SAILORS ‘FAVORITE DEDUCTION GAME
Feed the Kraken is a hidden role game with three asymmetrical factions.
All players are in the same boat, but want to navigate in different directions! The loyal sailors want to bring the ship safely to the mainland, while the pirates long to secretly maneuver the ship into the Bermuda Triangle. Meanwhile, a crazy cultist does everything possible to convince parts of the crew to summon his dark lord – the Kraken – from the depths of the sea in order to „save“ them all.
How is the game going?
At the beginning of your journey you will be given a secret team membership. You will either be a loyal sailor, a devious pirate, or a fanatical cult leader. Only the outnumbered pirates know each other, everyone else must try to find their teammates (or convert to their cult) while they sail. Rum-induced visions, lashes, cabin searches and mermaids help you to find out more about the true loyalties of the other „sailors“.
Who can navigate?
The goal of the game is to navigate the ship to its final destination. This would be easy if the players weren’t split into three different factions. Each secret faction wants to reach a different area on the nautical map. In each turn the ship travels in one of the three possible directions – but which one will it be?
The current captain and his chosen lieutenant study old nautical charts and relay their often conflicting orders to the chosen navigator who must make the final decision. In the meantime, the rest of the crew are busy drinking rum, gambling and telling each other stories about ancient sea monsters.
Who can you trust
After each navigation, the lieutenant and navigator are given off duty, and the captain has to find someone new who is sober enough to take part in the next navigation. Anyone can discuss how well this last navigation went, who was responsible for the current course, and who should be more responsible for it in the future.
Convince your opponents that it is in their best interest to make you the next lieutenant or navigator! You can even draw your guns and become the new captain in open mutiny! But how long will you be able to keep your crew’s trust? The next mutiny could already be waiting for you if your fellow sailors don’t like your decisions.

Depending on the areas you are heading for, different events will occur: conduct a cabin search, cut someone’s tongue out or feed them to the octopus!
Other events are based on the decisions of the current navigation team: Enjoy (rum-induced) visions of the future, talk to mermaids or join the cult of the octopus!
Personality cards give everyone on board unique tricks to influence the voyage. Get additional pistols, prevent mutinies, grant your crew additional navigation maps or influence the game status in a variety of other ways!
Whom shall we sacrifice?
However, the above list of all of these possibilities cannot describe the tension you will feel throughout the game! Prepare to fully immerse yourself in your role and experience an emotional roller coaster ride when your friends suddenly argue that the captain should cut your tongue or even throw you overboard to feed the octopus!
However, no player is eliminated before the last two moves. Even if the other players don’t trust you, they may occasionally have to integrate you into the navigation team, which keeps it exciting for everyone involved until the last second.
